I'm pretty new to Flash, using it to build digital interactive stories.

I needed a scrolling menu, and the vertical menu tutorial was great…but I'm wondering if anyone can help me customize it for what I need?

It's not going to necessarily be an html menu – rather, I'd like other functions as the user clicks on various menu items, such as transitions to certain frames, etc.

Is this possible?  I'd like to use an XML file on my hard drive, rather than an http, and can't seem to even figure that out, either.
